Desk Booking for Logi Dock Flex
An easy flex desking experience that makes it simple to find the right desk, with the right tools and near the right people.
This was a significant project that demanded a multidimensional effort, engaging all teams within Logitech for Business. I was responsible for designing the desk booking experience for our new device, Logi Dock Flex, which we developed from scratch specifically for this initiative. My fellow designers handled two other crucial pieces of the puzzle: Logi Tune apps for easy bookings on the go and Logitech Sync for IT admins to manage the service.

Desk availability at a glance
Employees never have to guess which desk is free, occupied, or in between—all necessary information is available at a glance. We conducted extensive testing and tweaking for this “main” screen: maximised font size for better legibility from a distance, added extra options for checking in via a QR code, and many more.

Automatic check-in
As Logi Dock Flex is a consumer-facing device in Logitech B2B lineup, our goal was to make the experience as simple as possible. One example is the check-in flow: employees can easily check in to their desk booking by simply plugging in their computers, which also grants them access to all desk peripherals.
Personalised backgrounds
For a personal touch, employees can choose their own background photos. At launch, we only had a set of curated images, but users asked for more control over it. In fact, this was the #1 request from our Early Access customers.
Away messages
Employees never have to worry about losing their seat. Logi Dock Flex clearly indicates that the desk is taken, even when the computer is unplugged. They can quickly choose from handy predefined messages or create their own.
Calls and upcoming events
Employees can also connect their calendars to view upcoming meetings and join calls directly from the dock with a simple touch.
Smooth interactions
The design is elegantly simplified to communicate the benefits of the product with interactions that are strategic and minimal.
